The Texas Society of Professional Surveyors is a non-profit organization, incorporated under the laws of Texas; to aid and contribute to the education of its members and the general public in attaining high surveying standards, both technical and ethical; and to provide a central headquarters and a closer association of its members.
The Gulf Coast Chapter No. 9 is chartered under provisions of Article XII of the Constitution of the Society and whose objective is to advance the profession of Surveying on a local level. The local region the Chapter covers is comprised of Austin, Brazoria, Chambers, Fort Bend, Galveston, Harris, Liberty, Montgomery, San Jacinto, Waller counties.
The Texas Board of Professional Land Surveying is the state regulatory agency for Registered Professional Land Surveyors (RPLS) and Licensed State Land Surveyors (LSLS) in Texas. The board's actions are governed by the "Professional Land Surveying Practices Act" and the "General Rules of Procedures and Practices".
